A few months ago I was invited to take part in an instagram loop giveaway which was the first time I head of Lovely Tot Designs she was also part of the loop. I love that this shop not only sells super adorable baby items, but I love even more that Lovely Tot Designs gives back to their community! How awesome is that?!?!?! I knew then that I simply had to find a way to work with her.
July is National Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness Month. Being involved in the baby community and being a parent of little ones I’ve recently seen a lot of cases of cleft lip and cleft palate and have been moved by the strength these parents have had to endure for their children. I reached out to a local family; Mom and Dad to the gorgeous 6 month old Ava Yvonne...here’s what they had to say...
A few months ago in getting ready to launch this blog I went through old journal entries and little quotes and writings I had saved in an old notebook. I came across notes for an old personal blog I started back when blogging was about sharing your family life.
Thank you for following my weekly planning series. Now that we've chosen a planner or calendar system it's time to fill it in! Here's how I fill in mine.
As parents...especially moms we have so much on our plates, that time becomes a precious commodity. There is never enough of it go around. I know that I hear myself saying, “give me a minute” about 100 times a day. And unfortunately what I really mean is “I hope you’ll forget what you wanted to tell me so that I could finish what I’m doing and move on to my next task”. I know...mom of the year right here!
Happy 4th of July!
Chore charts have been an on-going struggle in our household for quite a number of years. My husband and I grew up on completely different ends of the spectrum when it came to household chores and what the children were responsible for. I never had to do any chores...like ever! My husband did. We decided we did want our kids to have some responsibility when it came to our family and our home but I have to say that we’ve never been successful and finding a system that works.
Let’s face it...moms are busy! In most cases we are responsible for keeping track for where everyone is supposed to be at any given time of the day, week or month. If you are also working a full-time 9-5 or work from home, it means that you have very limited time to get things organized and ready for execution! Chances are that if you’re reading this it’s because you either have no plan or you think that your plan could use some improvement, and I’d love to help you with that.
Last week the words that every mother wants to hear were uttered in my home! “Mom, can I start reading Harry Potter?” Well ... any mom who also happens to be a huge Harry Potter fan. I swear, that I couldn’t get to the bookshelf fast enough. I have been anxiously awaiting during the last 8 years for the day that my kids would be interested in Harry Potter. Until now JK Rowling’s story about “the boy who lived” was something mommy liked, so this was a momentous occasion in my house.
I can’t believe that summer break is almost upon us! Last year I spent most of May preparing, researching, planning, printing, and organizing for summer vacation. I had a new baby to plan around so I needed to ensure that the biggies had activities planned all day so that the baby’s schedule wouldn’t be too interrupted. This year I have three very active children all wanting to go in different directions, and unfortunately (as you can tell my my opening line) May was gone in the blink of an eye! So this last week I quickly got to planning summer activities. Luckily I have a lot of the tools that I used last year for planning and thanks to Pinterest most of my research was saved, so that made it easy peasy!
