Product Spotlight – Lovely Tot Designs

A few months ago I was invited to take part in an instagram loop giveaway which was the first time I head of Lovely Tot Designs she was also part of the loop.  I love that this shop not only sells super adorable baby items, but I love even more that Lovely Tot Designs gives back to their community!  How awesome is that?!?!?!  I knew then that I simply had to find a way to work with her.

Confessions of a Cleftie Mom

It’s July, and for a lot of people that means many different things. Independence Day, fireworks, pool time, and long, hot summer days. It means going out to enjoy the weather, and maybe get a tan (if you’re like me that just means a sunburn). I used to not think very much of July. I’ve never been a fan of the summer months, and as a homeschooled kid I never had a “break” from school. We went through summer schooling, too. Well, things have changed since then, and July has become more significant in ways that I never imagined it would.

Cleft and Craniofacial Awareness Month – Ava’s Story

July is National Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness Month.  Being involved in the baby community and being a parent of little ones I’ve recently seen a lot of cases of cleft lip and cleft palate and have been moved by the strength these parents have had to endure for their children. Six Small Things That Are Big To Your Kids

As parents...especially moms we have so much on our plates, that time becomes a precious commodity. There is never enough of it go around. I know that I hear myself saying, “give me a minute” about 100 times a day. And unfortunately what I really mean is “I hope you’ll forget what you wanted to tell me so that I could finish what I’m doing and move on to my next task”. I know...mom of the year right here!

Confessions of a Guilty Mom

My mom guilt! It’s one of the strongest emotions any mother has. How badly am I going to screw up this little human’s life? We’ve all been there at one point or another during motherhood. We worry about how much time we are spending with them. How is the way we talk to them going to shape their self-esteem? We worry about what we are feeding them, what we are clothing them in and who we are leaving them with when we are not around. Am I truly doing the best job I can at raising them? We worry if the life choices we’ve made were wrong and if different choices would lead them to be more well-balanced individuals. Would a different path have resulted in better-adjusted children?

Choose a Chore System That Works For You!

Chore charts have been an on-going struggle in our household for quite a number of years. My husband and I grew up on completely different ends of the spectrum when it came to household chores and what the children were responsible for. I never had to do any chores...like ever! My husband did. We decided we did want our kids to have some responsibility when it came to our family and our home but I have to say that we’ve never been successful and finding a system that works.
